Robin Hood: Top Movie recap

King Richard, known as the Lion heart King of England in the late 12th century is killed in a battle. Following his death, Robin Longstride, who else but Russell Crowe could make it a top 10 movies act, is a deft archer in the king's army which he has served for ten years, is returning to his town along with some other soldiers. An English Knight, Sir Godfrey, a sinister portrayal done by top rated movies veteran Mark Strong, a stooge of King of France has set up an ambush of the Royal Guard. On finding Robin and his companions, Sir Godfrey flees. Robin and his companions take up the disguise of the slain knights to fetch a safe passage back home. A dying knight Robert Loxley portrayed well by Douglas Hodge, whose disguise Robin has assumed is promised by Robin that he shall return his sword to his father in Nottingham.

On reaching England, Loxley (Robin) informs the Royal family about King Richard's death and witnesses the coronation of his younger brother John, the perfect antagonist played by Oscar Isaac, the selection of many top movies, as the next king. King John proves to be a heartless king and soon imposes heavy taxes and commands Sir Godfrey to corollary his dictate. Sir Godfrey takes advantage of the situation and spreads chaos in northern part of the kingdom and helps the French soldiers in causing a civil war.

Robin reaches Loxley's house in Nottingham where his blind old father Sir Walter, though a small but needful role worthy of top rated movies done by Max von Sydow, on studying the truth asks Robin to stay with them as Luxley lest their lands are taken hold-of by the king's men. Lady Marian, the charming one played by darling of top 10 movies list Cate Blanchett, Luxley's widow though initially hesitant warms up to Robin after he helps the town citizen in recovering the illegally taxed grain.

The northern Barons, disturbed by the actions of Sir Godfrey, meet King John and agree to fight the French forces jointly if in lieu King John promises to honor their autonomy. Sir Godfrey's advances to Nottingham are warded off by the locals under the leadership of Robin but Sir Walter is killed by Sir Godfrey. The French strike England from the South coast but are beaten by the English army. Robin plays a major role in the victory and is also victorious in slaying Sir Godfrey. King John does not honor his promise with the Northern Barons and fearing Robin's popularity may harm his reputation, declares him to be an outlaw for murdering Sir Godfrey. Robin moves to Sherwood Forest with Lady Marian and other town citizen and they come to be known as Merry Men of Sherwood Forest.

There have been many versions on the screen and many have found place in the top 10 movies list, of this popular tale of a local hero who is feared by the monarchy. The monarchy labeled him a bandit and the masses crowned him as their savior. Since this version was presented by director Ridley Scott, who makes nothing but top rated movies, it was named Ridley Scotts's Robin Hood and is believed to be the best among all. The close resemblance to the locations of that particular period, the dress code of the natives and the normal climate of a town of that era have all been captured on celluloid to perfection by Scott. The Robin Hood tale was considered to be for the teens but Scotts's optical extravaganza, like in his other top movies can equally be savored by citizen of all ages.
